Election results finalized, no major audit findings

The results from Idaho's spring primary are official. The Idaho Board of Canvassers — made up of the Secretary of State, State Controller and State Treasurer — met Wednesday in Idaho Falls to certify the results of the May 21st primary election and review post-election audit findings. Several four-person auditor teams from the Secretary of State's Office spent the week ahead of the state canvass conducting precinct-level audits of specific races in several counties. Idaho Reports observed part of the Valley County audit on Monday at the courthouse in Cascade.

State officials certify May primary election results

Idaho Capital Sun: Secretary of State Phil McGrane, Idaho State Treasurer Julie Ellsworth and Idaho State Controller Brandon Woolf certified the results of the May 2024 primary election on Wednesday in Idaho Falls at the Mountain America Center. Around two dozen people turned out in-person, McGrane said, the highest turnout for a canvass he’d seen.

JFAC hears Harm Reduction Project investigation

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare conducted an investigation into the Idaho Harm Reduction Project after the group was accused of illegally distributing drug paraphernalia other than legal needles. The nonprofit organization has since closed.

New state filings expected in Hawkins lawsuit

After about 40 minutes behind closed doors on Tuesday afternoon, the Board of Examiners directed Attorney General Raúl Labrador to file new documents in a high-profile lawsuit over a controversial property sale on the edge of downtown Boise.
