Life of inclusion for individuals with disabilities
News, Life-Stories and Events from UCP of Stanislaus County July 2021
From the Desk of Chris Martin
Summer is upon us. For some that means vacations as things slowly reopen in our state, for some it gives time to reflect upon the freedoms we enjoy by living in the country we do. At UCP July means a change in the Board of Directors Leadership. UCP is governed by a Board of volunteers who give their time, talent and treasure to UCP and the individuals we serve. We are grateful for their service that allows UCP to continue serving the disability community in Stanislaus County. Congratulations to Corinne Santos-President, Rachelle Riggs-Vice-President, Richard Daniels,-Treasurer and Caitlin Bell-Secretary. On behalf of the UCP family, welcome and we look forward to working with each of you.
UCP Programs
As the State of California slowly starting to open back up, UCP has been getting the same question asked by many "When is day program opening back up?" First, we should point out, UCP staff is just as excited as our participants and their caretakers that this is going to be happening in the near future! Second, UCP is working diligently every day to get to that Day of Re-opening. As our day program staff have been out there working hard to offer Alternative Services to our participants, the managers of those programs have been working hard behind the scenes to get our buildings ready, paperwork and plans in place in order to meet all of the new COVID related guidelines and regulations (trust us, there are a lot of them!). We are getting closer and closer each day. One thing everyone needs to know is that it will be a staggered re-opening, meaning we will be bringing back small groups (or cohorts) at a time to reacclimate individuals to program. Your program manger will be reaching out to you to schedule a required meeting with the team to find out what services you are interested in so that you can be added to the returning list. While this will take time, we are determined to have it done quickly! Thank you for being patient with us over the past 15 months and we look forward to seeing your smiling faces back at UCP soon to enjoy the great times we will all share together.
Below are a few pictures from past 4th of July celebrations, Enjoy!
