The team reported that The Meadows at Carson Creek in Austin, Texas was a great place to start off the new season of working and blessing others. At Carson Creek they found another community full of hard working people that love their families and are just trying to make ends meet. The team was a welcomed presence to the community and there was plenty for them to do. 81 helpers came out on volunteer day to make all that work possible.

The community dinner was a huge success with 9 dozen tamales, 70 hamburgers and as many hotdogs served to more than 80 of the residents. The residents were very enthusiastic about nominating their neighbors in need of help and a whopping 17 slips were turned in that night – that was a record for a single day of nominations and provided a solid indicator to the tremendous number of needs represented among the community. So many residents to meet and try and help! Thank goodness for new additions to the team, they would be needed here.

At the end of last season Scott and Laurie joined the Impact Cares Field team and returned to start off this new season full of excitement. Another new couple, Danny and Lucrecia have joined the team, and jumped right in. With these 3 couples working together with the Project Manager alongside the residents and volunteers, this year is sure to be an unequivocal success!
