Dear Fellowship,
As a church we have come through one of the best seasons ever at Fellowship Greenwood. Fellowship came out of the blocks last Summer with a new initiative, "Loving our Neighbors," and as you have seen, God has allowed us to do just that. We began to pray that God would help us to really live His commands, so a plan was developed to narrow the focus down to doable, bite sized pieces.
We are now seeing God answer these prayers. We are seeing lives changed and the community look to us for answers and assistance. We are growing in numbers for sure, worship attendance is up 30%, but honestly we are seeing this same type of growth in every category. Even in the summer months, our worship center is routinely at 90% capacity. To put this in perspective, in evangelical circles, a church that grows 4-10% is considered fast growing. God is using the Fellowship!
Now we begin to look to the future. How would God have us continue to answer the call and fulfill our mission? How would He have us continue to be a good steward of the people He is bringing us? We must make room for all who will come. We must have a place for every person God is bringing to us. The mission to make disciples is nowhere near finished. There are many neighbors, co-workers, friends and family members without the gospel and without a church. So, after months of planning, talking with church leaders, a church survey and serious prayer, we announce some very exciting news.
In order to fulfill the mission that God has given us in scripture, to go and make disciples, to be a refuge from the world, a place that lives out the Bible in caring for one another, loving one another, praying for one another, and bearing one another's burdens we...
