March news from HALTER - HORSE + LIVESTOCK TEAM RESPONSE
Fun events we've attended recently
HALTER Celebrates National Ag Day
Each year, we join the SONOMA COUNTY FARM BUREAU (and 6,000 students aged 6-12) for fun and learning about our county's Ag heritage. We hope to inspire them to think about where their food comes from, the importance of treating all animals in a caring way, and possibly perk their interest in a career involving animals. Loads of fun for everyone!

Puppy Love & Kittens, too!

A fun, cuddly, convivial and delicious evening was had by all at the  Marin Humane Gala.

Captain Cindy Machado and her rock-star officers, along with a bevy of beautiful dogs and volunteers, were the most wonderful hosts.

Funds generated by the enthusiastic and generous crowd will repair the roof, which was showing its age during the rainy winter!  Thank you, Marin Humane for many decades of dedication to animals!
The Boys Are Here!!
The first herd of RESQUIP Equine Training Mannequins (we like to call them "Horse-a-Kins") has arrived! Thank you to LARRCo of Winston-Salem, NC, and Resquip, of the U.K., for expediting production and delivery.

The "boys" have been deployed to Graton Volunteer Fire Department, Marin County Search &  Rescue /Marin Humane, and Glen Ellen/Valley of the Moon Fire & Rescue. They are vital to the training and skills development needed to make our growing Animal Technical Rescue groups the Best in the West!

They'll be joined soon by the mares, completing a herd of 5 Horse-a-Kins enabling teams to train around Northern California. Additionally, the UCD Student VERT is growing and thriving, with a robust crop of students prepping to become the first generation of US vets educated and ready to safely integrate with first responders to help in all incidents involving animals.
