Bourbon Street comes to Front Street with Beaufort's Mardi Gras Celebration

Beaufort's Waterfront Mardi Gras Festival is a three-day celebration with feasts, parades, costumes, masks, and revelry.
Enjoy an afternoon carnival on Saturday filled with Cajun food and live music! Local restaurants will offer Traditional Cajun or Creole cuisine at their food booths up and down Middle Lane and on Front Street and John Newton Park.
Beaufort’s Mardi Gras Celebration is a true display of Beaufort’s quirkiness. The parade of “krewes” in costume tossing jewelry and charms is something to see. The Sweet Potato Queens always steal the show! The group of women aged 40-70, all dress in elaborate costumes and perform choreographed routines.
Tickets are available now for the Mardi Gras Ball (Friday), PRO/AM Gumbo Competition & Tasting (Saturday), and the Sinner's Remorse Brunch (Sunday).

Two individuals were honored as Menhaden Whisky Society Champions at our December whisky tasting event featuring Basil Hayden. They signed their names on the whisky barrel lid.
Jennifer and Lewis had their Menhaden Whisky Society Passport stamped showing they enjoyed 50 different whiskies. The two whisky enthusiasts join Craig, our first Champion crowned last April.

Whisky Tasting Set for Thursday, February 22 | |

We're fired up about our soon-to- arrive custom whisky barrel by Old Forester.
Last Fall, members of the Beaufort Hotel team traveled to Kentucky to collaborate with Old Forester in the creation of our own barrel.
The process included the charring of our barrel (shown above). It essentially opens the wood up, making it easier for bourbon to extract flavors.

Our upcoming Whisky Tasting will feature three whiskies, including our own Beaufort Hotel custom barrel.
Tickets are $45.00, per person, plus tax and gratuity. A small, innovative taste of food will be paired with each whisky.

Meet Don Pressley, Our Executive Chef | General Manager Peter Grills is pleased to announce the appointment of Donald Pressley as Executive Chef at 34° North Restaurant. | |

Chef Don comes to the Beaufort Hotel from Alabama. He served as the Executive Sous Chef at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel. The property is a 4-Star Hotel with 345 rooms, banquet space of 300,000 sq. ft. The hotel is connected to the Montgomery Performing Arts Center. Chef Don managed banquet dinners up to 2,500 people and receptions up to 8,000.
He also served as the Executive Chef at Hideaway Country Club, Fort Myers, Florida.
Chef Don began a Wholesale start-up business venture in Asheville to market and sell gourmet grilling and southern style BBQ sauces Along with off-site catering.
