National School Nurse Day is celebrated this week. This is a week to show our nurses how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to our students. School nurses play an important role in keeping our school community healthy and happy. THANK YOU to all of the SISD NURSES!

Area Champs!! After losing a nail biter 2-1 in extra innings of Game 2 today, the Lady Pirates dominated Game 3 to win 9-1. This is a huge accomplishment for theses young ladies and coaches!

First Baptist Church of Shepherd dropped off snacks for Teacher Appreciation Week to every campus and we would like to say Thank you to them for all the yummy goodies!

This week we celebrated our Color Guard at their Solo and Ensemble presentation. Great performances by all!

SISD is proud to announce: Luke Moore and Celine Orozco signed their Letter of Intent to participate in collegiate sports next year. Luke has committed to play baseball at Graceland University in Iowa. Celine will be powerlifting at Ottawa University in Kansas. Both of the athletes have been exceptional students and been involved in many activities at SHS. We are proud of you

Our seniors were honored at a beautiful Baccalaureate service at Good Shepherd Baptist Church on Sunday night. Thank you for hosting us, our seniors, and their families. WAY TO GO CLASS OF 2023!

CKH Shout Out:

Serenity Cornett was nominated by Mrs. Watson for being kind and respectful. Serenity is our class contract helper and takes her job very seriously. She makes sure visitors and classmates follow our social contract.


CKH Shout Out:

Evany Andrews was nominated by Mrs. Wyatt for being helpful. Evany was the first to be helpful to another student in need.

Lucas Donjuan was nominated by Mrs. Coursey for showing kindness and respect. Lucas is always quick to volunteer to help other students. He always listens and follows directions.

CKH Shout Out:

Aiden Schlumbrecht was nominated by Mrs. McGee for being self-directed. Aiden does a wonderful job self-directing his actions.

to the Shepherd Primary Students that received MindPlay Certificates, STMath Certificates, and a special shout-out to those PK students that were able to ring the bell for knowing all of the sight words!

Our third graders have been putting in extra work

4th grade classes wrote and illustrated their own fables and then had the opportunity to present them in front of the class.

Kaylee Barlow, David Benkowski and Ryan Barber passed their Microsoft Powerpoint Certification Exam this week. This certification will pave the way for our students to gain a career in any Business field that requires a Microsoft Certification.

HOSA- Future Health Professionals, took a field trip to the color factory. We set the fastest record time in the neon room creating art! These students have worked very hard this year developing effective leadership skills, strengthening their academic and technical skills, and participating in community service activities!  

Ms. Ferguson's Kindergarten Class is learning about

rhyming sort and working on comprehension.

LOOK AT US!

Students worked in groups to research one of the eleven body systems found in their text books. Their research focused on structure and function of the major organs. Each group was responsible for a visual aid to be used in their presentation to the class. They became teachers in the class! Great job Mrs. Bebee!

The following students received their Adobe Certified Professional Certificate in Visual Design using Photoshop. Great job Mrs. Courvelle facilitating the students success with these certifications.

What is happening in #piratenation

The Shepherd FFA will be hosting our last blood drive of the year on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 8am- 2pm in the high school gym foyer. If you would like to sign up, please use the link provided below. If you need help, please email me (kparmar@shepherdisd.net) for any assistance! 


We have any time available from 8am-1:45 pm. Reservation times will be available every 15 minutes. I will schedule them on a first come, first serve basis. If your time is not available, I will try to schedule you close to your preferred donation time.

The Pirate Battalion is inviting Veterans and the community for a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony. The event will take place at the high school flag pole, on May 24th, 9am. After the ceremony, JROTC will hold a Murph Challenge, in honor of Lieutenant Michael Murphy, Medal of Honor recipient. The track will be open for attendees to take a lap around the track in remembrance. We look forward to seeing you there!
