We will announce local drop-off sites as they become available. We typically have folks that can transport the shoeboxes to Endwell or to the Conference Center.


DISTRICT EVENTS


Edinburg Days, Saturday, July 13, Edinburg UMC


We are blessed to welcome live entertainment by Rustic Chill from Noon to 2:30 PM for the second year. Admission is free. The town will also have many activities. Our women's group will be selling hamburgers and refreshments, and we will have our indoor yard sale from 10 AM to 2 PM. Stop by to tour our historic church and meet us! Clergy Wellness Hiking Day: July 16

Take a day to recharge in nature hiking in the Adirondack mountains with a guide from Skye Farm Camp! Skye Farm will provide your lunch and transportation to and from the trail head. Please arrive to Skye Farm at 8:30 to meet your group and pack you lunch before departure.

Clergy Wellness Canoeing Day. Take a day to recharge in nature canoeing down the Cedar River Flow and enjoying the scenery of the beautify Adirondack Mountains! Skye Farm will provide all the equipment, lunch, transportation to and from the river, and a guide. Please arrive to Skye Farm at 8:30 to get fitted for your equipment and pack you lunch before departure.


Young Adult Adventure Camp 2024

Ages 18+ Enjoy an adventure-filled weekend to unplug-- and let us do the planning and cooking! Go whitewater rafting down the Upper Hudson, take on the high ropes course at ADK Extreme Adventure Park, and hang out at camp with old friends and new.



Creating in Creation: Fall Crafting Retreat

Sept. 13 @ 4 PM - Sept. 15 @ 2 PM

Ages 18+ Come create at camp! Join us to unplug, devote time to the creative practices that fuel us, and enjoy the beauty of creation. Whether you'd like to crochet by the lake, sketch on a hike to the castle, or try something new, we'd love to have you. Summer 2024 Midday Concert Series, every other Wednesday, July 17 through Aug. 28, Essex Community Church


The Essex Community Church, 2306 Lakeshore Rd., Essex presents its 2024 Midday Concert Series, with concerts on Wednesdays through Aug. 28. All concerts begin at 11:30 AM. There is a suggested donation of $10 per person. The concert on July 17 features William Ogmundson, pianist and composer, playing contemporary and jazz piano pieces. Other concert dates are Wednesdays July 31, Aug.14 and Aug. 28, with a variety of music. Click here to view posters with details.

Vendor Craft Fair and Chicken Barbecue, Saturday, Aug. 10, South Bethlehem UMC (Reserve for BBQ by Aug. 1)


Come join us for our Vendor Craft Fair from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, Aug. 10. Lunch will be available plus a bake sale to support our church United Women in Faith. Our Thrift Shop ‘Boutique’ will be open as well. Enjoy a delicious take-out Chicken BBQ; dinner includes baked potato, corn on the cob, baked beans and coleslaw; all for $15. VBS at Queensbury UMC week of Aug. 12


Queensbury UMC invites children ages Pre-K through Grade 6 to its Camp Firelight Vacation Bible School from 8:45 AM to Noon the week of Aug. 12 through Aug. 16 (Monday through Friday). The church is located at 460 Aviation Rd., Queensbury. There is no charge.

Explore New Opportunities in Mission Leadership!

District Day: Informed to Transform, Saturday, Sept. 28,

Saratoga Springs UMC


We are happy to announce that we will be hosting another District Day on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Saratoga Springs UMC. Once again, we will offer up to 20 workshops on a variety of topics, facilitated by pastors, laity and community leaders. The day will begin around 9 AM with worship, followed by a series of three 75-minute workshops, with lunch provided. The day will conclude around 3 PM with closing worship. If you haven't experienced a District Day, we hope you will consider attending this year! It's a wonderful time to share fellowship and to learn and grow in mind and Spirit!


Travel to Africa University with UNY: February 2025

 

United Methodists of Upper New York have the opportunity to travel across the world to visit Africa University (AU) in Zimbabwe next year. The 10-day trip allows travelers to meet with students and witness a class in progress while learning about Africa and its culture.

Travel with Bishop Héctor, Dr. Roger and Mrs. Claudia Ellis, and others from UNY from Feb. 12-21, 2025. AU is a ministry of The United Methodist Church, and the UNY pilgrimage is your opportunity to see and experience the faithfulness of United Methodists and others.
