Fiona Ma -CPA- California State Treasurer-Elect. A member of the Democratic Party, Fiona was the first Asian American woman to serve as California Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore, the second highest ranking office in the California Assembly. She is also only the second Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to be elected to the Board of Equalization. She was selected as Chairperson of the California Board of Equalization in 2016, ordered three external audits of the agency, and helped lead the biggest reforms for accountability and efficiency in that agency's history.
Lily Ng - Director for Bank of the West Government Banking Divion. Lily was born and raised in Singapore and came to America at age 19. She gradauated from the Univerisity of Oregon with a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics. An advocate of volunteering and community involvment she has served on various boards and is currently active as the Finance Chair for Bank of the West Mix City National Leadership Council, Chair for the Conference Committe member for the California Municipal Treasurers Assocation, Board Advisor for the San Gabriel Tennis Club in SoCal and Board Advisor for Sacramento - based Achieving Positive Thinking World Wide (APTW) organization. She has been specializing in Government Banking since 2004.
Jeff Y. Wong - Jeff has over three decades of professional sales experience in various industries from technology to medical to financial services. He is also the founding youth athletic director for Sunset YOUTH Hoops, a community faith-based youth summer program in San Francisco's sunset district. Every summer children from the neighborhoods across San Francisco connect through basketball, volleyball, badminton and softball leagues in the Chinese Christian Union sports leagues. Jeff also volunteers at several charities on a regular basis, including San Francisco City Impact, Alpha Pregnancy Center and Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco.
Jennifer Wakeman - Jennifer has been working in municipal finance for nearly 16 years, starting at the Town of Moraga and the City of Walnut Creek before landing at the City of Lafayette where she is currently the Financial Services Manager. In this position she oversees accounting, investments, debt management, budgeting and all financial reporting. While she enjoys managing the City's finances, she simultaneously serves as a board member for the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. This organization serves over 2,200 members as the preeminent resource for promoting excellence in government finance through innovation, collaboration, continuing education and professional development. This year, her work has focused on the development of a program for student engagement, along with exposing students to the field of municipal finance and providing opportunities for gaining entry to jobs.
Jotham Ty - CEO of Gappify, a provider of bots for corporate accountants. Prior to founding Gappify, Jotham started one of the first consulting practices in the San Francisco Bay Area specializing in Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX") compliance. With his team of former-Big 4 auditors, the firm has also been engaged by fast-growing technology companies to provide IPO readiness, operational accounting support and system improvement-related services. Today, Jotham is most passionate about helping corporate accountants evolve through the power of technology. Jotham is a proud alumnus of KPMG, LLP and holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Saint Mary's College of California.
