NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK 2021

Last week, Esperanza Health Center – along with hundreds of health centers across the country – celebrated National Health Center Week 2021. National Health Center Week is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. The week included a series of Focus Days, which highlighted specific areas of impact within the health care community. Here at EHC, we celebrated our wonderful patients, stakeholders, and staff who help drive our mission to provide high-quality, affordable health care in Jesus’ name!

Stakeholder Appreciation Day Our stakeholders play a crucial role in how we live out our mission and vision. To show our gratitude, we awarded a gift card and Certificate of Recognition to Miguel Diaz from The Simple Way, and Stephanie Stanford, one of our beloved Board Members.

Patient Appreciation + Children's Health Day We celebrated our patients with a goody bag from our community partner, Health Partners Plans. Children also received a pencil box filled with school supplies and learned a valuable lesson in handwashing through a glitter experiment!

Staff Appreciation Day We would not be the health center we are without the diligent work of our staff and volunteers. As a token of our appreciation, we provided boxed lunches for all staff members and gifted them an Esperanza goody bag!

DELTA VARIANT + VACCINE UPDATES

COVID-19 cases are on the rise throughout the country and here in Philadelphia due to the highly-contagious Delta variant. The COVID-19 vaccine is highly effective and reduces the risk of severe infection, hospitalization, and death. This includes protection against the Delta variant. EHC is proud to offer the Moderna Vaccine to patients and non-patients over the age of 18. UPDATED VACCINE SCHEDULE: Hunting Park Site (4417 N. 6th Street): Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Mornings: 9:15 am – 12:00 noon Monday and Wednesday Afternoons: 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm Kensington site (861 E. Allegheny Ave.) Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday Mornings: 9:15 am – 12:00 noon Tuesday and Thursday Afternoons: 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm Walk-ins age 18 and older are also accepted; vaccines will be given if available, and an appointment will be scheduled if a vaccine is not available.

EHC and Everence Financial Celebrate Grand Opening of Kensington Branch! On Friday, August 20, 2021, we celebrated the Grand Opening of Everence Financial's Kensington Branch - located on the second floor of our Kensington site. Everence helps individuals, organizations and congregations integrate finances with faith through a national team of financial professionals.
