Esperanza Health Center Welcomes New Nurse Midwife!

We are thrilled to welcome a new addition to our team, Olivia Young, CNM, who recently joined our Women's/Prenatal Care team as a Nurse Midwife! Her husband, Charles Young, CRNP, MSN serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner at our Kensington health center site. Join us in extending a warm welcome to Olivia, as we continue our mission to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to our community!

National Women Physicians Day

Children's Dental Health Month

February is Children’s Dental Health Month! At Esperanza Health Center, we're committed to promoting bright smiles and healthy habits for our little ones! Here are some dental tips to ensure your child's oral health shines:

Start Early: Begin cleaning your baby's gums with a soft cloth, and as soon as the first tooth appears, introduce a small, soft-bristled toothbrush.
Healthy Snacking: Try nutritious snacks like fruits, veggies, and cheese to support strong teeth. Limit sugary treats to maintain optimal oral health.
Regular Check-ups: Schedule regular dental check-ups for your child. Early detection and preventive care are key to a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Lead by Example: Show your child the importance of good oral hygiene by maintaining your dental routine. Make it a family affair!
Teach Proper Techniques: Demonstrate and assist your child in brushing and flossing techniques. Encourage independence as they get older.

Esperanza Partners With Everence Financial

We’re grateful for our collaboration with Everence Financial Credit Union, located on the second floor of our Kensington health center site, offering a variety of financial services to our Kensington community. The building that originally housed The Kensington Trust Co. at the intersection of Kensington & Allegheny Avenues has now been transformed by Esperanza into a community health center. Everence Financial's location at our Kensington site, in an area where many residents face limited financial resources, combines faith with finances and aligns with our mission.
