Goal for 2021
Blankets for 25,000 Children in Foster Care

Together we can do it, one blanket at a time!

My Very Own Blanket is brings blankets of love, comfort and hope to children in foster care. Here is how you can help us do just that!

  • Order blanket kits online. Pick up inside our workshop Monday - Friday, 9 am to Noon, or use our 24-hour curbside bin just outside the workshop.

  • Drop off your finished blankets in the 24-hour curbside bin outside our workshop..

  • Not in Central Ohio? Sponsor our "no-sew" blanket kits online to have them sent to you. We will help you contact your local children's services to deliver to kids in care in your area!
Erika's Story
We are grateful to Erika, a former foster child who found us through a volunteer program sponsored by her employer, Chase Bank, for sharing a little of her story with us. Erika, her family, and her Chase family are now MVOB Blanket Angels!

I was placed in foster care at an older age, 13. I had nothing personal of my own. My Very Own Blanket means so much to me because I know the feeling of not having anything of my own in a new home. Read more
One box of scraps becomes six beautiful quilts

Starting with one big box of small fabric scraps, our Blanket Angel Kay created six beautiful, unique quilts for children in foster care.

In this video, Jessica and Kay tell us all about it.
Do you advocate for children in foster care?
If you are a caseworker or advocate for children in foster care anywhere in the U.S., we would love to provide blankets that you can share with kids who could use something to hold onto. Just tell us how many you need. 614-530-3327 or info@myveryownblanket.org
Girl Scouts make blankets and raise funds for MVOB
We were very pleased to receive this note, along with a $207.35 donation, from Megan, leader of Girl Scout Troop 5032 in Powell.

Our girls made blankets for your organization earlier this year and loved it. We gave the girls several different organizations to choose from to donate money from their cookie sales and yours was one they chose.

Thank you for all you do to remind these children in foster care they are so loved. Thanks!
We are grateful for the support of Scouts like these two from Troop 5032 in Powell.

Blanket Angel Snapshots
Thanks to Angela and the Big Walnut Area Realty Association. They made 50 blankets and donated the check Jessica is holding for $470!
The busy members of the Columbus Mothers of Twins Club have been faithful supporters of MVOB for many years. We are very grateful to receive their recent $1,250 donation and for the hundreds of blankets they have made for children in foster care.
Jill shows off the beautiful crocheted blanket made by her mother Brenda. This is Brenda’s first donation; she was inspired by a feature about MVOB recently shown on NBC4 TV.
