The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Byrd and Ross Medallion Awards. These prestigious awards are presented to Rowan University seniors who contribute significantly to the entrepreneurship community and demonstrate perseverance along the way.
The recipient of the 2024 Byrd Medallion Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership is Megan Steckler (Marketing and Entrepreneurship '24). This award honors Professor Kimble Byrd, a founding member of Rowan's entrepreneurship faculty. It was established through the generosity of Professor Greg Payton, a former student of Professor Byrd's, who said, "Professor Byrd inspired me to think bigger and work harder. He emphasized the importance of service above self, academic achievement, perseverance, and an entrepreneurial mindset." This award recognizes a student who embodies these qualities.
The recipient of the 2024 Ross Medallion Award for Entrepreneurial Engagement is Isabella Shainline (English and Secondary '24). This award, given in honor of Dr. Linda Ross who taught at Rowan for 43 years and co-founded its entrepreneurship program, is awarded to a student deeply engaged in and supportive of Rowan's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Ross Medallion Awardees are more than participants; they are entrepreneurial leaders who give back more to Rowan's entrepreneurial community than they hope to receive.
