PULLATracker earns first place in 2023 Rohrer New Venture Competition

The 2023 Rohrer New Venture Competition presented its most competitive year yet with five innovative and high-growth business ventures competing for the top prize of $30,000, the most ever awarded to a Rowan student startup.


PULLATracker, 4U Medical Designs, Lushious Beauty, Art for Hope and Bobica Bars pitched their business plans to an industry leading panel of judges including Joseph Cosgrove (President and Chief Executive Officer of Leiters and Entrepreneur in Residence at Rowan), Shawn Hill (Co-Founder and Managing Partner at August Hill), Nika Corbett (Owner and CEO of Curate Noir), Mike Connallon (Executive Director, JP Morgan Chase & Chairman of the $25 million Rowan Innovation Venture Fund (RIVF) and Lauren Hanson (CEO and Founder of FlipMD).


Siena Rampulla (Psychology '23), took home first place for PULLATracker, a mobile app that ensures women feel secure on college campuses, earning $5,000 in non-dilutive seed funding, automatic acceptance into AccelerateRU, and a $25,000 convertible note investment from RIVF. The 2023 New Venture Expo winners are...

Over 50 idea-stage student startups took over Business Hall for the 2023 New Venture Expo. The startups were joined by nearly 70 industry-leading entrepreneurs and business owners that participated as Expo judges.


Ashley Kulikowski, (Psychology '23) took home first place for Art for Hope Studio, winning $4,000 in seed funding. Art for Hope Studio is an art studio specializing in eradicating the mental health crisis through their services.

The Expo featured the stARTup Gallery, located on the second floor of Business Hall, which showcased over 100 art pieces submitted by photography students and curated by Creatives 230. Tyler Allen-Williams (Radio, TV & Film '23) took home first place for his series of portraits.

Applications are being accepted for the 7th annual Think Like an Entrepreneur Summer Academy for high school students, a three-day, non-residential, educational experience for rising high school juniors and seniors.

4U Medical Designs interviews with PHL17 before heading to pitch competition

Nick Nastasi (Management / Entrepreneurship '23) and Josh Perry (Biomedical Engineering '24), of 4U Medical Designs, were interviewed by PHL17 before heading off to Minneapolis to compete in the E-Fest Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Competition. The team took home second place in the semi-final round. 

Rowan student startup dives into cannabis delivery industry

Jonathan Tecum-Chaves (Entrepreneurship '23) and Kevin Asare (Management '23) continue to make progress on their startup, THC Go, a cannabis delivery company that will bring cannabis products from local dispensaries to consumers’ doorsteps through their app. Read the full story from the Whit here.

Rowan alum receives Liv Mas scholarship

Malicka Barro (Supply Chain Management '20), founder of the Konay Spice Shop, received a $25,000 Live Mas Scholarship from the Taco Bell Foundation. Malicka will pursue her Master's degree in Sustainable Food Systems at the Culinary Institute of America.

Art for Hope to compete in statewide pitch competition

Ashley Kulikowski (Psychology ’23), founder of Art for Hope, has been selected as a top 6 finalist in UPitchNJ, a statewide pitch competition. Ashley will represent Rowan in the finals later this month. Learn more about Art for Hope Studio here.

#ProfFounder leads from experience in the classroom and his career

Chris Wilczewski (Marketing '15) is Founder and Chief Operating Officer for the World Ninja League. Chris was featured on the Rowan University Blog for his “home of the world’s leading obstacle course organization.” Click here to read the full story.

ENT seniors visit Lincoln Financial Field

The Entrepreneurship capstone class visited Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. Students left feeling energized after learning about stadium operations, visiting the game day press box, receiving a tour of the locker room and walking the field.

ENT alum completes culinary program in Italy

Congratulations to Jimmy Benavente (Entrepreneurship '22), founder of Generazione, who received his Master's in Italian Cuisine from the Italian Culinary Institute in Staletti, Italy!

ENT podcast host lands on Rowan's 2023 featured graduates list

Rowan University highlighted Joe Sokolowski (Finance '23) as a 2023 Featured Graduate. Joe found his passion for property ownership, research and entrepreneurship during his time as an undergrad, where he hosted season 2 of the Entrepreneurship at Rowan Podcast and worked with the School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship to develop a Certificate of Undergraduate Study in real estate. SIE faculty member awarded research grant

Dr. Susana Santos, along with an interdisciplinary team of Rowan faculty, received a $35,000 grant to pursue their research paper titled, Strengthening Humanistic Literacy in the Study of Sport: Developing a Minor and Certificate in Sports and Society from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
