The deadline for entering Chestertown RiverArts' Art of Stewardship Juried Exhibition is fast approaching and we encourage everyone who cherishes our fragile planet to enter. We are fortunate to have Greg Mort, an internationally renowned artist whose Stewardship series of paintings have been exhibited to much acclaim and Rebecca Hoffberger, founder and director of the American Visionary Museum, as judges of the show. First and Second prize winners will be awarded a two-person show at the RiverArts studio gallery.

Entries may have been shown previously, but must be for sale. We will accept work in any 2- or 3-dimensional medium from traditional to contemporary using a variety of techniques and imaginative interpretations. The judges will evaluate artwork on both thematic and artistic excellence. Artists may submit three pieces of work. We're looking for art that depicts those natural resources we hold dear and pieces that move us to take an active role in stewarding our planet. We know we will be delighted and inspired by your creativity. The submission deadline is Wednesday, October 1.

RiverArts and the Chester River Association are sponsoring the exhibition, which will run from Thursday, November 6 through Saturday, November 29. The exhibition will kick off with a ticketed Awards Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, November 6, during which judges Greg Mort and Rebecca Hoffberger will announce the winners. The exhibition is a central part of a four-day event focusing on the critical role of the artist as steward of our planet and our natural resources. Curated by CRA President and renowned Chester River artist, Marcy Ramsey, the show focuses on the artist as a steward of our Earth.
