Want an easy, free way to ensure your City of Newark utility bill is paid on time each month? Sign up for AutoPay today and never miss a payment again.


AutoPay allows you to set your preferred payment method, including credit, debit and eCheck, as well as the ability to choose between paying your bill in full on your due date or enroll in budget billing.


Here’s how it works:


  • Log into the Customer Connect online bill pay portal
  • Select “AutoPay”
  • Choose your Payment Plan Type and Payment Method
  • Click “Continue” and that’s it!


Plus, setting it doesn’t mean forgetting it. You'll still receive either a printed bill or an e-bill (if enrolled for e-billing), indicating that your payment has been successfully processed through AutoPay.


In order to keep payment processing costs down for the City of Newark, the preferred payment option is to pay by eCheck. Processing fees may be implemented in the future for credit card and debit card transactions. By selecting eCheck, you will minimize any future processing fee impact.
