EQ Housing Innovation Forum
EnerQuality's Housing Innovation Forum was held on February 19th from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and Suites. Some of the brightest minds in the industry came together to explore the most compelling and ground-breaking products and services in the industry, and to discuss the future of green building in Ontario. The event was in celebration of 10 Years of ENERGY STAR for New Homes and kicked off an enjoyable day of insightful seminars, education and networking leading up to the EQ Awards celebrations that evening.
In case you missed it the forum featured five engaging and educational sessions on topics including; the Shift to Higher Density Housing; Building Better, Faster, Smarter; and Scaling Net Zero Homes. Sam Rashkin, Chief Architect of the Building Technologies Office in the U.S. Department of Energy, delivered an inspirational keynote presentation that addressed how far we've come as an industry and what we have to look forward to in the coming years. If you would like a copy of Sam's presentation please contact:Katie@enerquality.ca

Also a highlight was the EnerQuality Innovation Gauntlet, a fast-paced Dragon's Den style session featuring six manufacturers from the Tradeshow. During this event, each manufacturer was given 4 minutes to pitch their most innovative product to a panel of 'dragon' builders. Just the final decision was left to the audience who had to choose between these leading manufacturers and cast their ballot for the "Most Innovative Product Advancing Building Performance". At the end of the day, Dettson took home the Innovation Gauntlet Award for their Chinook Gas Furnace with Aliz Outdoor Cooling.
