Ending the Year on a High Note

From our President:

Please joining Stamford Cradle to Career in ending the year on a high note. We would like to take just a moment to recognize our community partners and the support we are able to provide to the families of Stamford. With your support we have hosted many family-oriented events both in person and virtually. We had the opportunity to offer the community a series of information sessions on the Police Accountability Bill, Mill River Park - Early Childhood Fair, an Investing in Equity Forum, Community Conversations, Board of Education Candidate Forums, as well as ongoing community and caregiver development workshops.

At SC2C we are also creating structures to elevate underrepresented segments of our community. In that effort this year we have launched our Parent Advisory Group, launched our Youth Leadership Interns, as well as maintained our Parent Ambassador Program. We remain committed to prioritizing the expertise of lived experience.

We are overjoyed to continue our partnership with Stamford Public Schools in our work with Restorative Practices and school culture, the Bridge to College Program and work with the Empathy Project in Middle School. We wish you and your families a happy close to 2022, and an awesome start to the new year!

In gratitude,

Edith Presley

Recognizing the Legacy

of Lavone Roberson

"Nia Means PURPOSE" books have been given to every SPS 3rd grade classroom in remembrance of Lavone. To introduce the books, community members volunteered as guest readers at several schools during December.

This book donation project celebrates Lavone’s dedication to service and living a life of purpose while inspiring our students to find purpose in their own lives.
