The Canandaigua Summer Pistol Shoot.

When: June 22, 2024. 9am to 4pm.

Where: The Canandaigua Sportsman’s Club

The Summer Pistol Shoot will introduce people to the competitive pistol sports that we enjoy at The Canandaigua Sportsman’s Club and in our area. Each stage of fire will have a static shooting position with multiple targets. You’ll get to shoot each stage 3 times during your run. This shoot will allow the beginning shooter to practice and learn how a pistol competition feels, yet will also give the seasoned shooter a chance to have fun as well!

Each stage will start at a ‘low ready’ position, so no holster is required!

No special equipment is needed other than your cased handgun, eye and ear protection, 60rds of ammunition per group (Bring more!), and a few extra magazines or reloaders.

There will be 4 stages of shooting. Some will be cardboard only while some will have steel targets for fun!

Groups:

1. Rimfire (.22 pistols)

2. Factory 10 (Semi- Auto’s over 10rds)

3. Factory Under 10 (Semi-Auto’s under 10rds)

4. Snubby Revolver (Short barrel, less than 6 shot revolvers)

5. Revolver-6 (6 shot or more revolvers)

6. Optics (Those pistols with slide mounted optics)

7. Open (the competition formatted pistol)

THE GLOCK Sport Shooting Foundation shoot (GSSF): The Ontario Region GLOCK Challenge. In it's 3rd year and growing stonger every year, this event is quickly becoming one of the top TWO go -to GSSF shoots in NY state. (Pine City is the other one) August 2-4, 2024 at the Fabulous Ontario Rod and Gun Club in Ontario NY. To pre-register, you'll need to go to https://gssf.pro/outdoor-matches/ and use the drop down list to select New York and then August. There you can click on 'Work this match' or 'Register'. Follow the prompts and you'll be in! We're looking for volunteers and sponsors as well! If you'd like to have your business sponsor a stage, buy lunch for the volunteers, or help offset the costs of running the event, contcat Dave and ask for the sponsor information!

If you have a NYS Pistol License, you need to go to THIS page and check your recertification status. NOW!

You MAY have to do your recertification ASAP. This catch was not publicized very well as a result of the CCIA in 2022. It was very convoluted and vague.
