Encinitas Aloha Ball Results

Even though we had a later start time, 47 ladies showed up in their finest Hawaiian outfits for a great day at Encinitas Ranch Golf Club!

A huge “well done” to everyone who brought ball markers for the Helix High School Girls Golf Club. Your contributions were outstanding and a testament to the generosity of the LPGA Amateurs San Diego Chapter! Thanks to Stacey Musso for letting us know that we could help.

This year, in addition to the Team Hula (a Team game in which a certain number of net balls from the foursome counted on each hole), we also instituted The Par 3 Olympics.

Also, teams were rewarded by a team stroke reduction of 2 points if the Aloha Ball was returned, but penalized 1 stroke if it wasn't returned.

Par 3 Olympics

Hole #2 T he Aloha Ball player was allowed a "Do Over" if they wanted/needed it.

Hole #6 Hitting within the Circles: The larger circle - Teams were rewarded 2 point deduction if the Aloha Ball player hit it and 1 point for any other player. The smaller circle - Teams were rewarded a 3 point deduction for the Aloha Ball player and 2 points for any other player

Hole #12 Hit the Green: Teams were rewarded a 2 point reduction for the Aloha Ball player hitting the green or a 2 point addition for the Aloha Ball player going in the bunker. If any other player hit the green, it was a 1 point reduction or a 1 point addition.

Hole #17 Choose one Team Player to hit from the designated area (Drop Zone) and allowed to tee it up. Did not have to be the Aloha Ball player.

Here are the results: (1st place winners received $20 Golf Mart Gift Cards and Hawaiian Lip Balm, and 2nd place winners received $10 Golf Mart Gift Cards.) All winners received Reese's Gold Medal Bars.

Paula Smith gets a Hole in One on Hole 12!!!

Her first ever!!!

Here's the moment of the Hole in One... Paula stood up at the tee box, measured 120 yards and pulled out her trusty 8 iron, swung and watched it hit the front of the green and start rolling. She just couldn't take the anticipation and looked away. But then, Lisa Schmidty screamed and she realized that it must have gone in and started screaming too!! My First Hole-in-One!!!!

The screams were heard throughout the course, kind of like during the Olympics when a French person knocked it close or in!!! How appropriate!!!

WAY TO GO!!

and then, of course, the aftermath.... the fun 19th Hole Celebration. Paula bought drinks for the group (with the help of $100 from the LPGA San Diego Chapter for her Hole in One) and everyone got to participate!!!
