When is TABLE moving?

Thanks to all of our generous donors, we are excited to share that we have just $300,000 left to raise to meet our $3.25M goal! And, a special thank you to Washington Commanders Quarterback, Sam Howell, and UNC Quarterback, Drake Maye, for their support in an event where we received over $300,000 in gifts that will go directly to supporting our new space!

While we still have more funds to raise, we have submitted an application for a permit from the Town of Carrboro and are in conversations with a couple of contractors to begin renovations on the space. We hope to move in by this fall!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Bonner & Sam

Bonner & Sam have been TABLE volunteers since 2017, when they would regularly volunteer at the kids’ shift until COVID caused TABLE to temporarily suspend the shift. However, Bonner continued to help by leading our Thursday bagging shift. When TABLE brought back the kids’ shift, she and Sam jumped at the chance to participate once again.

Sam, having spent every Thursday for two years asking if he could go to TABLE with Bonner, was so excited to return and has taken great pride in helping kids volunteer for the first time. Sam says he, "doesn’t have a favorite thing about volunteering with TABLE, simply that he just likes helping.”

Steve Esthimer

Last week TABLE honored one of our long-time friends and most committed volunteers, Steve Esthimer. Steve delivers food to our kids 3 times every week (sometimes more!), is our go-to handyman and hauler, offers his home as a space for staff to host celebrations and team-building activities, and so much more. THANK YOU, Steve, for all you do to support TABLE families!

Encourage Picky Eaters to Eat

In this month’s blog, Ashton shares her tips on how to creatively incorporate fruits and veggies into our children’s diets and how to encourage them to try new foods!

A mom recently told us she is so grateful for the fruits and vegetables they receive because she can’t afford to spend money on food unless she knows for sure that her kids will eat it, so TABLE is an opportunity for her children to try new-to-them nutritious foods.

Shift Leaders

Shift leaders are essential to the efficiency and success of each shift. If you have regular availability this summer or fall and want to take on a leadership position, email Volunteers@TABLEnc.org.

Delivery Drivers

We rely on 45 volunteers every week to deliver food directly to the homes of the children we serve. Shifts are available on Tues, Wed, & Thurs and take about 1.5 hours. If you have a car and are 18 years or older, we’d love to see you at TABLE to help deliver!
