It’s OCTOBER, 2022. How did that happen?? Time is flying by and God is moving! This week begins our fall season with new TV shows, Christmas blockbuster films, renewed streaming shows and lots of holidays! So, hang on to your hat and join us as we praise, pray and thank God for all that He’s doing in the global entertainment industry.

Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur
It was Rosh Hashanah on Sept. 25th - 27th, and today is Yom Kippur. So, we want to celebrate the Jewish people and our rich Jewish history and spiritual foundation. Please pray a prayer of blessing for the Jewish people as you listen to this video by HPN member and friend Dr. Mitch Glaser, who explains the meaning and significance of Rosh Hashanah. And on this Day of Atonement, would you ask if there is anything you have said or done to any of God's people whom you should ask forgiveness?

Demi Lovato
We keep praying for Demi Lovato, who grew up in a Christian home, went through “church hurt” and is now working through her own spiritual journey through her music. Demi is pushing back from her faith, and we can’t endorse her newest album for HPN listeners, but we did hear a short podcast about her path away from Jesus and thought it would be helpful to all of you who are praying for Demi or someone close to you who has walked away from God. Don’t lose hope for the Holy Spirit is moving. God is in control. And with Jesus, nothing is impossible! So, please pray with hopeful anticipation, for Demi, and anyone you love who has turned from their first love!

A Night to Remember: GLOBAL ROOFTOP ENCOUNTER
We want to thank everyone who came out to our beautiful in-person and live streaming event this past Sunday, the Global Rooftop Encounter Prayer and Worship night, in collaboration with our friends at The Rooftop Global Encounter. We were thrilled to join the hundreds of believers around the world who gathered in their homes, countries, and cities to pray with the body of Christ and with us in Hollywood.

We want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered, prayed, served, attended, or watched from around the world! NOTHING that we do could be possible without the hearts of those in this community to serve and make these events possible! We can't show or express our appreciation enough!
Watch the replay on Youtube or Facebook, and join us for 2 hours of glorious worship, times of prayer over Hollywood, and celebration of all that God is doing in the Christian community throughout the local Entertainment Industry. This event was a collaboration of artists from churches and ministries all over Los Angeles, to lift up the Lord in Hollywood, while overlooking the iconic Hollywood Sign, and declaring the name of Jesus over our city!

Eminem/ Dr. Dre/Kanye West/ DJ Khaled Song #1 on Christian Billboard Charts
We want you to praise God for four top Rap artists who were all part a song, “Use This Gospel” that glorifies God and their faith in Him, on a new album. It’s a miraculous story of how important God is in their lives and it’s on the top of Billboard’s faith-based Hot Christian Songs and Hot Gospel Songs lists! And here’s how God works: Dr. Dre got permission from Kanye to use a revamp of his 2019 song and recorded it, featuring Eminem in DJ Khaled’s new album! WOW! Join us in praising God as He moves through all of the Arts to give people hope!

GMA Dove Awards
The 53rd annual Dove Awards will be held in person on October 18th from Nashville and then aired on TBN on October 21st, and HPN members are a part of the ceremony. Billboard just announced the co-hosts, Erica Campbell and Chris Tomlin, and two of the many nominees are Maverick City Music and For King & Country. R&B and Gospel singer Erica and husband Warryn Campbell pastor a church in LA., so let’s pray for them and all of the people involved in the ceremony, asking the Lord to show them how to use their gifts for His glory and to know that their identity is not in a Dove award, but in HIM!

Lukas Black
Lukas Black, lead actor on N.C.S.I. has left the show so that he can spend more time with his wife and children. Lukas, who is a committed believer, had to make the tough decision of continuing work on a very successful TV series or quitting to spend more time with his family. And he graciously walked away, knowing that it could cost him. But he believes it was worth it. Let’s pray that the Lord honors Lukas' decision and continues to use him to be a shining light, to bring truth to those who are seeking Him, and to be the husband and father he wants to be.

CW Future is Uncertain
The future of the CW came into question when the new owners of the network, called Nexstar, let go of 3 top executives after officially taking ownership on October 1st 2022. In May, Nexstar prepared for its incoming ownership by canceling 10 scripted original shows, only keeping favorites like Superman & Lois, Walker, and Kung Fu. Please be praying with us for the employees and families impacted by the cancellations, and for the future of the network to be open to content with underlying messages of redemption, truth and love. And of course, pray for God’s presence to be powerful on the show staffs, crews and on the sets of CW’s current and new programming!

WOMEN-RUN MEDIA LAUNCHES IN SOMALIA
Let’s pray for a groundbreaking new news service in Somalia called Bilan, which means “bright and clear,” that is run completely by women! This Somalian news unit “is staffed and managed entirely by women with full editorial independence and will produce stories for TV, radio and online media. Nasrin Mohamed Ibraham is Bilan’s Chief Editor.” We pray for the Lord to embrace Nasrin with His love, creativity, strength and wisdom, in both her personal life and in her professional career.

From award-winning filmmaker and HPN friend David Cunningham, comes a Hawai'i Western "The Wind & the Reckoning". Written by John Fusco (Young Guns, Hidalgo,) David's film swept the Boston Film Festival last weekend with eight awards including Best Film!
This story touches on themes of family, racism, sickness, fear, and so much more.
