Peddling Music In Rhythm is an interactive musical performance led by vocalist and storyteller Maggie Brown that gathers its inspiration from the street cries and hollers encapsulated in the songs and poetry of her father, Oscar Brown, Jr.

Today’s food trucks, pop-up tamale, fruit and popsicle carts, are preceded by days when commerce and enterprise was conducted by the Watermelon Man, newspaper boys, the Ice Man, Ragman, and many more. Characters who had a rhythmic, melodic way of broadcasting their arrival were once heard up and down the streets and alleys of Chicago.
