TheDream.US Emergency Grant Program is for our current Scholars who have lost their employment or experienced other financial hardships.
Amount of Award
The amount of the award varies based on the student’s financial need. Awards will range from $500 to $2,000 depending on the financial need and availability of funds.
Deadline
None. We will close the application when grant funds are no longer available.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
1. You have lost your employment because of the expiration of your DACA work authorization; or
2. You are experiencing a financial challenge due to the temporary or permanent loss of your or your parents’ employment or other unforeseen financial challenges; and
3. You are currently enrolled or you have an approved break-in-enrollment; and
4. You completed the Scholarship Renewal for the 2022-23 academic year
(the Renewal form is now open in your ISTS Portal).

Receipt of Award & Timeline

After verifying that you have met the eligibility requirements above and that you have successfully renewed your scholarship, you will be notified by email within 3 weeks if your application has been approved or denied.

If approved, a check will be mailed to you at the address you provide in the application. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the check to arrive.
- Please ensure the address you provide is a complete address where the check should be mailed.

You are required to keep receipts for all academic expenses and submit them upon request from ISTS or the Internal Revenue Service).[1]
