Greetings Sisters and Brothers:
The Pastoral Staff has been monitoring the path of Tropical Storm Francine. To provide for the safety of parishioners and staff, the office will close tomorrow at 12 noon. We will reopen on Friday at 8 am. Those with an emergency during this time should contact the emergency line: (504) 229-2396. We will respond to requests for anointings as long as it is safe to do so. Once the storm has passed and the city gives it all clear, then we will resume any anointings that may be pending. Should we lose electricity, the emergency line will be the main method to contact the parish since the phones require electricity to operate.
Tomorrow, September 9th, we will host Councilman Oliver Thomas and his staff for a sandbag drive-thru. Anyone needing sandbags should plan to arrive at the campus by 11 am. It will be a first-come, first-served method. Please also ensure you have all the necessary medicines and supplies to hunker down. Do charge your cellphones and any portable chargers, get gas, and be ready to stay home until we receive the all-clear.
Lastly, you are welcome to join us for Mass tomorrow morning at 8:30 am. Let's come together to pray for our city and state's safety and all first responders who will work to keep us prepared. Remember, prayer is our greatest weapon in all situations, and our collective prayers can bring us hope and reassurance.
Any updates will be sent through email and posted to the website for as long as we are able. We encourage you to stay tuned and stay informed. Your active involvement in staying updated is crucial for our collective safety and preparedness.
Sincerely,
The Pastoral Staff
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us!
