A Friend in Me: Self-Compassion for Kids (Ages 7-12)

This course blends mindfulness, yoga, art, meditation practices, and multimedia experiences to empower young minds. Through age-appropriate exercises, participants develop kindness, insight, self-awareness, and empathy, tackling the challenges of the infamous "monkey mind" that often plagues kids. Grounded in neuroscience research, our approach not only calms the mind and reshapes the brain but also promotes overall well-being. By cultivating self-awareness, children build resilience and emotional strength, fostering a capacity for kindness not only towards themselves but also towards others. Join us and nurture your child's emotional intelligence, enhance focus, and encourage a generous response to both personal and communal needs.

A Mindful Self-Compassion Program for Teens (Ages 13-19)

Adolescence, a pivotal time of change and growth, often brings challenges like confusion, anxiety, and depression. Rooted in the three key components of self-compassion—self-kindness, common humanity, and mindful awareness—this course opens teens' hearts to their own struggles. Through weekly meetings, developmentally appropriate activities, and thoughtfully crafted practices and meditations, teens learn to respond to life's challenges with greater ease. Research-backed findings indicate increased emotional well-being and resilience, providing teens with essential tools to cope effectively with the demands of their daily lives.

Foundation Dyad Program by Humanize

We are excited to share a special opportunity for you to join a science-based mindfulness course offered by Humanize.

Humanize has pioneered a new daily practice called the “Dyad,” in which two people get together virtually and take turns reflecting on daily challenges and gratitudes while the other person simply listens deeply and empathetically. Though it takes less than 15 minutes/day, the Dyad quickly builds human connection.

The online course will run 9-weeks, featuring a small intimate group of participants practicing the 15min/daily Dyads with each other and receiving weekly 90 minute group coaching from expert facilitator Megan Prager, Compassion Programs Director at The Center for Mindfulness at UC San Diego. As a member of the UC San Diego community, you can enjoy a generous $100 discount using the coupon code: UCSD100. (If you can't attend Megan’s course, you can use the same discount code for any Humanize course too.)

Curious to learn more about the science behind the program? You are invited to join a free introductory webinar, hosted by Megan Prager, on December 13, at 9 a.m. PT / 6 p.m. CET. Register here to save your spot.
