Dear Reader

With another ribbon-cutting ceremony behind us and the focus now is on the next stage of the airport rebuilding, let's stop for a minute and ask ourselves for whom are we rebuilding this multi-million dollar airport? Do we know who we cater to with our airport? In other words, do we know who our travelling visitors are and where they are coming from?

Many attempts have been made in the past to collect statistics about arriving passengers. To no avail. With the millions being invested in the airport renovations, now is the time again to consider investing in a working and sustainable system of data collection at the airport so that we can know who our visitors are, where to target them in their source markets and how to attract more of them when more of our hotels come back online.

The surrounding islands are investing more into their ports and tourism products and therefore the competition to attract more and better quality visitor will be stiff. We can only achieve a competitive advantage if we know exactly who our visitors are and where to find more of them. It is imperative that we start collecting visitor stats now.

In the meantime, do enjoy reading our full newsletter today.

Happy readings!
