Touch A Truck & Bike Rodeo Fun

Touch A Truck will be held at Rotary Park on Tuesday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Children can see, touch, climb on, and learn about vehicles and equipment used by the City and other public agencies in a safe environment. There will be games with prizes, popcorn, and more! The event is free to attend.


The Bike Rodeo will be held concurrently at the mountain bike skills area of the park. Bring your bikes and helmets to Touch A Truck, and make the bike rodeo part of your day. Learn road safety and get a guided tour of the bike skills park area with the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. Free bikes and helmets will be available while supplies last.

Sleep Center Next Steps

The Ad Hoc committee on Homelessness held a community open house in May to provide information about why a Sleep Center is needed in Ellensburg and which sites are being considered. The City Council and Board of County Commissioners will hold a joint meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the Armory Hall at the Kittitas Valley Event Center to consider the sites.

Juneteenth: A Community Celebration

The City of Ellensburg will gather to celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in 1865. This event is packed with enriching cultural programming and community engagement opportunities throughout the month of June, culminating in a day of celebration on June 19 in Downtown Ellensburg. All are invited to join in the festivities and educational programs that honor the past and embrace the unity and strength of our Ellensburg community.

Register For The August 3rd Youth Gladiator Dash

Mud! Sweat! Cheers! The Youth Gladiator Dash is back, Saturday, August 3rd at Rotary Park!


Youth age 5 through 8th grade are invited to come on out and get your mud on! The Youth Gladiator Dash is a challenging, exciting fun run with many muddy obstacles along the way. The Dash includes running, jumping, sliding, crawling, balancing, hopping, searching, climbing, throwing, and the opportunity to get muddy!


Participants must register. Register in person at the Kittitas Valley Memorial Pool or online by July 22 to receive a t-shirt.

Humanities Washington Speaker Series

Join the Ellensburg Public Library and Humanities Washington on June 22 for a presentation about the untold history of Northwest rock and roll featuring speaker Peter Blecha. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. at Hal Holmes Community Center.

Join the Ellensburg Public Library's Summer Reading Kickoff at 4:30 p.m. June 18 at the Library Lawn. Register for the program, enjoy treats, and get a free book while supplies last. There are reading programs for youth, teens, and adults.

Remote Control Boat Races 6/15 & 6/16

Ellensburg Parks & Recreation is hosting remote control boat races at Irene Rinehart Riverfront Park from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For safety reasons, the grass area and pond will be closed to the public and their animals from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fenced-in dog park will remain open. The grass area and pond will be available to use from 6 p.m. to park closing.

Children will be able to see, touch, climb on and investigate the big equipment in a safe environment. The Bike Rodeo will be held concurrently at the mountain bike skills course.
