2019-2020 Performing Company Dancers at PSU - Sept 2019

Quick Links

October 4, 2019
As we finish our 4th week of classes, we are happy to see things starting to calm down. We appreciate the patience and flexibility our families have shown these first few weeks as dancers were adding and dropping classes.  We understand how difficult it can be to juggle busy schedules and carpools. The staff is excited and have big plans for each class.
We are looking forward to a great year!
Days off School--

We realize there are a lot of days off of school during October and November, but the studio is still OPEN.  We have regular scheduled classes during all in-service days, conference days, Veteran's Day, etc.  You can always visit our website and click on studio news to find our closure dates.
The studio will be closed Thursday October 31st
We wish all our Elite Families and fun and safe Halloween.

Halloween Week--
Every year our dancers ask us if they can wear their costumes to class and the answer is YES.  Dancers can wear their
Halloween Costumes to class Thursday Oct 24th through Wednesday Oct 30th.
We ask that dancers still wear appropriate dance shoes and correct undergarments.  We will not allow any inappropriate or scary costumes, dangerous props, face make up, hats or wigs or costumes that interfere with dancers participating in class.  Costumes with glitter will not be allowed in the studios because it's too hard to clean off our floors.  If you wonder if your costume is appropriate, feel free to ask your teacher.  Remember this is supposed to be fun, BUT it cannot be a distraction the dancers or teachers.

We are excited to add Joe, another Hip Hop teacher, to our Elite Staff!

I began dancing in college at the UofO and trained at Unity School of Dance in Eugene Oregon. I spent the next 11 years training in Eugene and gradually transitioned to teaching. During that time I primarily taught hip-hop, acro and jazz. Eventually, I was working with competition and other performance groups, primarily Kings Krew Dance Company. Currently I have had the opportunity to compete at Hip-Hop International and dance with groups such as Kings Krew Directed by Eileen King, Lyfe Dance Company Directed by Durante Lambert and Rip City Crew affiliated with the Portland Trail Blazer Dancers.

I am thoroughly impressed by the work ethic and skill level I've already seen with Elite students, and I'm excited to get to work with them. I know that I will be able to challenge them and myself in class.

Monthly Tuition--

Please remember that tuition is due by the 1st of each month.  A $20.00 Late Fee will be added to dancer's account if tuition is not received by the 10th of the month.  We send out monthly statements and we ask that you double check your statements each month.  If there is an error in your dancer's class schedule or account information, please let us know. Any questions regarding your account need to be directed to Phyllis at  info@elitedancestudio.org.
Recital and Ballet Performance Costumes--
I know it seems like our spring recital is so far away, but a lot of planning goes into our big shows and it starts with teachers selecting costumes.  I will be sending out our Costume Email and Fees later this month.

Costume fees will be due by November 16th
Teachers will be measuring the dancers after Thanksgiving Break, all costumes will be ordered by December 15th and will be handed out to students after Spring Break.
All dancers participating in the June Shows are required to purchase a class costume.   Detailed information will be in the Costume Email.
