A NOTE FROM BRYAN

Crisp cool air and the crunch of leaves under our feet – it’s officially autumn! With all the festivities that this season brings, we too have cause for celebration. New partnerships, opportunities to give back, and programs operating at full capacity are all components contributing to the excitement of momentum building into these fall months. When we think of fall, the word “gather” comes to mind. What better time than this to gather as a community to help elevate our neighbors in this next season.

ELEVATE KIDS: FORCES OF NATURE

Elevate Kids after school program through Branson Schools continues into the fall with 20 plus students participating in fun educational activities. With an emphasis on science, students recently spent time with staff from the Missouri Department of Conservation. Students were enamored by the animal skulls, snake skins, and other elements on display, and even got to make their own outdoor journal to take home with them. Spending time learning outside with Elevate Kids has quickly become one of our favorite pastimes.

A STRENGTHENED COMMUNITY

Grace Family Church, among others, have contributed to our new Elevate Connections Partnership program, which is an opportunity to provide monthly donations dedicated to specifically funding resources through Elevate Connections for our neighbors. These resources include assistance with obtaining important legal documents to help our neighbors apply for jobs, transportation to appointments, assistance with SNAP filling and other confusing financial logistics, as well as connecting our neighbors with additional resources and referrals to other area organizations to assist with their wide variety of needs. In providing a hand-up, rather than recurring hand-outs, we can empower our neighbors to take steps towards change that lasts, rather than contributing to the crippling cycle of dependency on charity without providing a means to truly overcome poverty. Elevate Work is in full swing and the graduating class of November is proving just how eager they are to learn and contribute to the workforce. With 15 students enrolled in our current class, we’re excited to see how each of them will grow personally and professionally on this journey towards reaching their full potential through dignified work. Join us in praying for each of our students as they trek along the road less traveled toward a renewed sense of purpose and restored hope. Graduation for this class will be held on November 10th at 7:00 P.M. at the Elevate Branson campus. “Prior to working at Elevate Branson, I worked a job as a social worker helping our neighbors in a different capacity. Many times, I would refer the people I worked with to Elevate because I knew the great work that went on here. Now, to be able to be a part of that impact and help make a difference in Branson is an exciting endeavor. I love getting to talk with our neighbors and hear their stories. We've been going full speed ahead here at Elevate and I can't wait to see what the future has in store.”
