A NOTE FROM BRYAN

Happy New Year! We’re anticipating 2023 to be one of our biggest years yet, with projects coming to fruition, and continued support from people in our community, like you. I’m not typically one for resolutions, but my hope is that we see our neighbors find hope, dignity and purpose more this year than ever before. We’re running full force into 2023, expecting God to move, and to equip us to make real change in our community for the generations. THE NEXT RIGHT STEP WITH ELEVATE WORK

Our next Elevate Work class is in session beginning January 9th, and will continue for the next nine weeks each Monday and Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm. Our students are ambitious, and looking forward to networking with business professionals in our community, gaining skills essential to finding success in the workforce, and discovering their passions. We can’t wait to welcome our next Elevate Work class to our campus to empower them in their pursuit of finding meaningful and dignified employment. 

BACK TO BUSINESS

Our next class of Elevate Entrepreneurs starts on January 10th. We’re welcoming twelve budding entrepreneurs into our program, and equipping them with the tools and resources needed to successfully launch their own full-time or side business. With business simulation exercises, connections with business leaders in professional markets, and comprehensive education on how to build start-ups, our entrepreneurs will be open for business in just 12 short weeks. 

AFTER-SCHOOL ADVENTURES WITH

ELEVATE KIDS

Our after-school program will be back up and running this month after a brief break for Christmas and the New Year. Our 25 after school kiddos will continue to focus on art and sensory motor development. We’re highly anticipating welcoming our favorite students back for more exciting after-school activities and educational fun!

COMING SOON

A new program initiative that will address one of our community’s most pressing issues. Be on the lookout for the announcement of our newest development, coming February 2023.

MEET OUR NEIGHBOR, MISTY

Misty enrolled herself in Elevate Work after over ten years of being out of the workforce due to being the primary care-taker for her parents. During the course, Misty shared with her mentor and our Elevate Work Director that she had difficulty with reading and memorization – something she hadn’t admitted to anyone before. Through Elevate Work, we were able to connect Misty with the Springfield Literacy Council where she was able to complete courses virtually prior to each Elevate Work class, and increase her reading comprehension levels significantly.

Misty’s goal was to land a job post-graduation, and with 20 years of banking experience on her resume, she was determined to reenter that career field eventually. However, Misty’s tenure gap was a barrier keeping her from pursuing it further. After connecting with one of our volunteers, Chris, who specializes in resume writing, Misty was encouraged to build a cover letter explaining her desire to get back into banking and the reason for her extended period without employment. With access to the proper resources, education, and connections, Misty was able to apply for and receive a job at our local Great Southern Bank, where she is thriving today. We celebrate Misty for her courage and her determination to achieve her hopes and ambitions!
