Whether you are fortunate to live in the historic Cripple Creek Mining District, elsewhere in Teller, El Paso, or Freemont Counties, or are simply fascinated by Colorado's mining heritage; the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company (CC&V) wants to keep you informed about our operations and activities in the "World's Greatest Gold Camp!"
In 2012, CC&V completed the important and necessary pubic permitting process to extend gold mining operations, and our employees and contractors have been working hard on various projects associated with that extension.
Here is an update on a few of those projects:

This picture shows progress on the "Toe Berm" for our new valley leach field (including the initial stages of berm reclamation), as well as the realignment of Highway 67 between Cripple Creek and Victor, Colorado, in Squaw Gulch. This portion of the realignment opened on September 30th.

The gallows headframe in the distance is the preserved Doctor Jackpot (or Golden Wedge depending on who you talk to...). It will set above the relocated cribbing from the Mary Mckinney mine, and a new highway pullout that will overlook vistas of the Arkansas River Valley.
Planning, engineering, geology, restoration, preservation, construction, and environmental engineering - it's amazing how many careers are involved modern mining operations. |
Here is a photo of CC&V's investment in the construction of a new mill. Start up of the mill is anticipated in late 2014, with full production estimated to begin in the spring of 2015. This photo was taken in late July of 2013 - for an updated photo click here: Mill Site October 2013.
