St. Johns County Election News and Updates      July 2023

Good afternoon St. Johns County Voters,

As summer begins to wind down and we head into fall, it's a good time for us all to check our voter status ahead of the three elections scheduled for 2024. The St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections Office conducts list maintenance in accordance with Florida Statutes 98.065 to protect the integrity of the electoral process and ensure the maintenance of accurate and current voter registration records.

As part of that ongoing list maintenance process, Address Confirmation Final Notices will be mailed this week to 16,668 voters who did not vote in the last two (2020 & 2022) general elections or reflected no activity in their voter record, such as requesting a vote-by-mail ballot or making a change/update to their voter registration. Once a voter is sent a final notice, they must respond within 30 days. If the voter fails to respond, the voter will be designated as inactive.

A voter on the inactive list may be restored to the active list upon the voter confirming their local address by updating their registration, requesting a vote-by-mail ballot, or appearing to vote in person. We recommend that all St. Johns County voters visit our website at www.votesjc.gov/my-voter-status prior to the 2024 elections to verify that their information is up to date and accurate. You can always contact our office at 904-823-2238 if you need assistance updating your voter status.

Our Poll Worker and Operations departments have been hard at work securing convenient and safe polling places for the 2024 elections.

Of the 41 polling places used during the 2022 elections, three facilities are no longer available - Celebration Lutheran Church (Pct. 107), Faith Community Church (Pct. 108/201), and Palm Valley Baptist Church (Pct. 403). It has been a priority of the SOE Office to replace these lost locations and find new convenient locations within the same area.

Additionally, we will be adding two new polling places due to population growth within the county. Once all locations have been finalized, the Supervisor of Elections Office will mail new voter information cards to all effected voters and our final list of 2024 polling places will be available before the end of the year.

The St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections is excited to announce the arrival of our new Clear Ballot Clear Audit system! The Florida Division of Elections approved the Clear Ballot Clear Audit automated independent audit system in June for use across the state.

The system provides a 100% audit independent from our tabulation system. We will continue to run efficient and transparent elections, and the new system will provide the voters of St. Johns County with an added level of confidence in our verified and trusted election results.
