St. Johns County Election News and Updates      May 2024

Good morning St. Johns County voters,

May has been a very exciting month at the Supervisor of Elections Office. Six public and private office tours were conducted for over seventy St. Johns County residents interested in learning about how St. Johns County elections are conducted ahead of the August Primary Election! It is a wonderful experience for both visitors and myself. I enjoy knowing that attendees leave the Elections Office tours with a better understanding of Florida elections, and heightened confidence when casting their ballots in St. Johns County. Interested in attending a tour ahead of the August Primary Election? The last tour of summer 2024 is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, at 10 AM. For those interested in attending, click here to register. I look forward to seeing you!

This month also saw the start of the candidate qualifying period for candidates running in the fall elections. Qualifying papers began being accepted Tuesday, May 28, pursuant to Section 99.061(8) F.S. for the candidate qualifying period beginning noon, June 10, through noon, June 14, 2024. The St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections Office is a qualifying officer for all County Offices, such as Clerk of Court and Comptroller, Property Appraiser, Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector, County Commission, and School Board Members, Special Districts, Municipalities, and Community Development Districts. Political party committeemen and women will also file with the St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections Office. Candidates for State Senate and State Representative file with the Florida Division of Elections in Tallahassee.

Local candidates who file to run are listed on the Candidate List and Reports page of our website. A list of local offices up for election in 2024 is available on our website at www.votesjc.gov. For more information on becoming a candidate, click here.
