Election Day for the 2024 Primary Election is August 20, 2024, and polls are open from 7 AM to 7 PM. Voters must vote at their assigned polling place on Election Day. Some polling places have changed since the last election, and I recommend visiting our website to find your polling place before heading to the polls – this can be a real time saver!

Sample ballots have been mailed, or emailed if requested, to all St. Johns County voters. Sample ballots can be a great reference to make your voting experience easier. Sample ballots can be printed out, marked, and brought to the polling place with you to aid in marking your actual ballot. View your sample ballot online here.

The Universal Primary Contest on the 2024 Primary Election ballot is the race for Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.

All registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote in a Universal Primary Contest. A Universal Primary Contest occurs when all the candidates for a specific office have the same party affiliation and the winner will have no opposition in the General Election.
