The Yearbook team needs your help to make an awesome keepsake of the '23-'24 school year! We are collecting photos for the school yearbook of school activities including class parties, art appreciation, summer park playdates, field trips, Walk-a-thon, Pumpkin Bash, Winter Craft Fair, Before/After School programs, etc.

Please submit photos to your students' Room Parent(s) or e-mail schoolrelations@puestadelsolpta.org to receive a link for uploading.

*NOTE: You do NOT need to submit your students' individual portrait photos for the yearbook!

STEM Fair

STEM Fair is on April 24th, 2024.

Are you ready? Two quick announcements for the STEM Fair:

1. Registration extended to April 15th! It’s time to complete your experiments and get ready for poster making!

Need help with the STEM Fair?

Bellevue High School's Science Olympiad offers a service called Tutor Time, held each Saturday at various KCLS libraries. Drop into one of their sessions or email them (tutortime.bhs@gmail.com) if you would like help with your STEM fair project! They host free drop-in tutoring for grades K-12 in any subject, and they have tutors knowledgeable in STEM to help you with all aspects of your project. April SpEd Family Meet-Up

Our second Special Education Family Meet-Up is on Friday, April 26th, from 3:45pm to 5:00pm!

Your child does not need to have an established 504 plan or IEP for you or your family to join our meet-ups. All students who are pursuing support from the school to thrive are welcome.

We will meet in the Teatro. If the weather is nice, we will play on the playground. If not, we will stay inside. Activities and snacks will be provided—thank you Melissa Hammons and Annie Perry for volunteering.

5th Grade News: March/April Updates

• 5th grade virtual meeting - April 16th from 7-8pm where we will vote on legacy gift suggestions and finalize 5th grade graduation party. Join Zoom Meeting.
• Fundraising - We are hoping to raise more money towards graduation and the legacy gift (this is a gift the 5th grade class gives to the school). We are hoping for just 2 more fundraisers this spring to meet our budget.
• STEM Fair Bake Sale - April 24th volunteer hours between 4-8:30pm. Sign up to volunteer here.

School Food Share Program is Back!

Do you like the idea of less food waste and want to do an easy, quick job for the school once a week?

Before covid, our students saved unopened milk and uneaten fruit from the garbage at lunchtime. We are so thrilled that this program is back at Puesta del Sol! The program is called School Food Share, and our school was one of the very first in the district to participate many years ago. We began a soft launch in January with a donated fridge from two awesome grandparent volunteers, and Sra. Rosario collecting the unopened milk boxes.

We are looking for a few people to take turns picking up unused lunch food and delivering it to Hopelink once a week. Help us bring back this waste reducing, food sharing, awesome program to Puesta del Sol! The Bellevue School District has partnered with Care Solace to complement districtwide efforts to provide our learning community with access to mental health care and support student well-being. Care Solace is a central hub that connects students, staff and their families to care. At no cost to you, Care Solace will quickly and confidentially find available mental health and substance use providers matched to your needs.

Care Solace helps school districts provide care coordination for every student, staff member, and family member in need. The Care Solace team is always available — including nights, weekends, and holidays — in 200+ languages.

For anyone who was unable to attend the Garden Party, there's still a way to join the celebration! Donate any amount towards our $500,000 event goal with hundreds of other community members. Our efforts to cultivate funding for 18,000+ students in Bellevue are ongoing as the District faces a $10,000,000 funding gap.
