There's No Party Without Power Mylar balloons can really pull the plug on a party. As we celebrate our graduates this season, we would like to remind you that mylar balloons are made of metallic material that can be a serious issue if they come into contact with power lines. Here are a few tips to keep the festivities going this season: Always keep mylar balloons indoors and dispose of them properly.  Attach a weight to the streamers tied to mylar balloons to keep them from floating away.  Remember that mylar balloons are not a keepsake so be sure to deflate them before disposing.

Protect Yourself from Electrical Fires This Season The holiday season is a prime time for entertaining, but decorative lights and home cooked meals that add to the ambiance also increase the likelihood of home fires and electrical accidents. This holiday season, prevent electrical fires and protect your family with these helpful tips: Inspect your electrical products: look for cracked or frayed appliance cords, exposed wires and loose connections. Flickering lights, tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses are warning signs that your home’s electrical outlets may be overloaded. When decorating, do not staple or nail through light strings or cords. Keep outside decorations clear of standing water or snow and make sure all products are marked for outdoors use. Always turn off and unplug holiday decorations before leaving your home or going to bed.
