KidsArt Gets In the Swim this Summer Too
Education Coordinator Tracey Roode has created a “sea” of water-themed activities for young artists this summer.

From June 12 th through August 10 th , the Art Museum will be offering FREE programs for youth groups! Each program will begin with a guided tour of our summer exhibit, Making Waves: A Drew Brophy Retrospective followed by a hands-on workshop in our art studio.
Registration for two KidsArt Summer Camps is now open. We have two different camp sessions, one in June and one in July; each has classes for children ages 5-7 and 8-12. In June, campers will tour our exhibit The Water’s Fine , learn various techniques for portraying water through painting, and will create an art exhibit in the studio. They’ll also learn about marine biodiversity and plastic pollution. July campers will tour Making Waves and will design “surfboards” and accessories inspired by surf culture, sacred geometry and Brophy’s varied artwork. We still have availability in our camps but spots are filling up quickly!

We have a few collaborative art programs with the Chapin Library this summer: A Music & Art Program offered at the Library this June and also a program inspired by Making Waves in July. For more information about these programs, including how to register, contact the Chapin Library at 843-918-1275.
