E-Rate Filing Window
Announced
New
Filing Forms, E-Rate Process Pushed Back 1 Month
USAC
has recently announced that the new Application Filing Window Date
for the 2011 E-Rate Year will begin on January 11, 2011 and
will end on March 24, 2011.
Because
of these changes, the entire E-Rate process will effectively be
pushed (and thereby delayed) an additional month. Schools
filing (and certifying) their Form 470s prior to the
beginning of the window will likely receive an earlier place in the
waiting queue.
In
addition to this announcement, USAC has released a new set of
revised Filing Forms for the 470 and 471, as well as
their accompanying Filing instructions.
As
per USAC's instructions, schools and libraries may not use the new
forms until the beginning of the filing window
(1/11/2011).
However,
USAC has indicated that all schools filing and certifying the older
Form 470 before January 11th will still be
considered.
Again,
because E-Rate Season is right around the corner, Metronet Systems
would like to urge schools and libraries to file the current and
original Form 470 as soon as possible, to avoid taking a place at
the end of the queue. As is always the case, "The early
bird gets the worm".
