Rosie Yumski's Fine Foods
Now Bigger, Brighter and Better
WESTPORT - There is suddenly a whole lot more to love about Rosie Yumski's Fine Foods.
Already an established destination shop in a village famous for great shopping, Rosie Yumski's has broadened its product offerings and increased areas for demonstrations after moving to a larger location earlier this year.
"I've more than doubled my space," says owner Martha Kudrinko. "I sometimes walk in here and pinch myself and say 'Wow, this is my store and I love it'."
The shop is now located in the former Bateman House at 1 Bedford Street. For about 15 years it was located on Church Street. Martha says she wanted to expand but the former location would have meant closing down the store during renovations. Purchasing and moving to a new downtown building made more sense.
"The new location is bright and spacious. All items are displayed in categories," says Martha. For example, there is a gadget wall, a bakery section, pots and pans, a cleaning and environmental section and even a special area for bowls of all shapes and sizes.
Rosie Yumski's is known for its specialty foods, cooking utensils and gadgets as well as so many other sought-after and inspirational "foodie" type products.
With the additional space, Martha is planning to hold more product and cooking demonstrations as well as workshops for adults and children. Most recently, she held a gingerbread house competition and had 10 outstanding participants with amazing entries.
"The other store was cozy but the new shop is so much bigger and brighter. I'm pretty excited about it," says Martha.
"This is a nice, lovely space to be in," she says, adding she is always open to bringing in new lines or items her costumers are interested in. The store gets many five-star reviews from both locals and visitors.
"We want to continue to be a destination for our many loyal followers and we welcome new customers who may be just finding out about us," says Martha.
