Miracle Maids experiencing amazing growth,

celebrating three years of success

Miracle Maids owner Tabitha Flood came up with the idea for her company and did her research in what she considered an under-serviced area. Now the company has surpassed its own 5-year growth projections in just 3 years.

"We're just growing and growing," says Tabitha. "I'm very proud of the success of Miracle Maids and know it wouldn't be possible without my competent staff." Her team has increased to 6 full-time and 5 part-time positions since opening in 2014 and more staff will be added this year.

As well as providing regular cleaning such as weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, Miracle Maids also performs a variety of specialty services and one-time, all-inclusive cleaning for new home purchases, rental properties, renovations and spring cleaning. Tabitha's coverage area includes Athens, Toledo and Charleston Lake to the north, Elizabethtown-Kitley and Brockville centrally, Cardinal to the east and Mallorytown to the west. This season Miracles Maids will be adding services to St. Lawrence River islands in the Rockport and Ivy Lea area. The company motto is "Sometimes, we all need a little help."

Her marketing/branding has been so successful many people think Miracle Maids is a franchise operation but it's not. Tabitha's father, entrepreneur John Simpson, husband David and brother Jamie Simpson helped and encouraged her to go into business and she hasn't looked back. She had a solid business plan. Last year the company was nominated for the Elizabethtown-Kitley Business of the Year Award.

"We can help people stay in their homes longer," says Tabitha, noting many seniors use her services. Staff typically work in teams of two and bring all of the required cleaning products and equipment. There is an unscented "green and clean" line and environmentally-friendly products.

Rideau Lakes honours business, innovation and entrepreneurs

SOUTH ELMSLEY - Country Roads Community Health Centre (CRCHC) has earned the premiere Rideau Lakes Township Business of the Year Award.

CRCHC is one of the oldest and largest employers in the municipality and has earned provincial recognition twice in the past 4 years. The Health Centre has multiple sites and continues to offer new programs and extend its services to those who do not have a regular doctor. The award was presented at the Business Recognition Breakfast at the South Elmsley Municipal Centre on April 7th and hosted by the Rideau Lakes Economic Development Committee.

Also honoured at the event with the Young Entrepreneur Award was Scott Blair, of Scott Blair Construction, and Business Innovation Award recipients Tony and John Ferguson, owners of 2Low Inc. Scott has earned provincial, national and international awards for carpentry and was 10th worldwide.The Ferguson brothers invented and brought to market a new product named 2 Low, which alters the drive of your vehicle to reduce stress while transporting heavy loads.

Business of the Year nominees included Bayview Yacht Harbour, Delta Country Market, Miller's Bay Farm and the Rideau Lakes Golf & Country Club. Larry Cochrane was a Business Innovation category nominee. Sara Foley, of Howling Designs, and Joel Weber, of Rideau Lakes Chiropractic, were nominees in the Young Entrepreneur category..
