Each spring our team hosts Meet the State, an event targeted towards individuals who are new to the economic development field. We provide an overview of GOED and our affiliated agencies, highlighting all the ways we can support your community.

Despite facing some weather-related challenges this year, we were pleased with the turnout at the event.

GOVERNOR'S CONFERENCE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

This year's conference was a resounding success, with record-breaking attendance. Whether you were present at the luncheon, participated in a panel discussion, or listened to one of our esteemed keynote speakers, we hope that you found valuable insight.

During Thursday's luncheon, Governor Kristi Noem named Centerville as Community of the Year for its continued growth and economic success. Brooke Rollag and Dean Dziedzic were both honored with the Excellence in Economic Development award for their outstanding leadership. The full story, videos, and more can be found on our website.

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) created Economic Development Week in 2016 to recognize the work that economic development organizations and professionals do in their communities.

Per IEDC, their theme this year celebrates Economic Development Heroes. They will be spotlighting economic developers who are pioneers within their communities.
