Season's Readings!
Joyful Events for Readers
This week Mysterious Galaxy hosts three fabulous events, including James S.A. Corey (
Babylon's Ashes is on our shelves now), our annual Holiday Party, and our famed Local Author Meet and Greet. Don't miss the many opportunities for holiday shopping and staff reading recommendations!
Holiday Staff Pick
Well, the Big Box store did not take over the small town Lychford, but something and/or someone just as evil is plotting to break down the barriers between the worlds. It is Christmas time and everyone is feeling a little stressed. This will be the first Christmas as vicar of St. Martins Church for Lizzie, Autumn is feeling lonely, and Judith is Judith. The ghost of a small boy who keeps repeating "No Hurting" becomes attached to Lizzie. The unknown force works on each woman's fears and isolates them from each other. The power of friendship and a little faith help to pull the three free of their demons and save themselves and the world. I enjoy the relationship of the three, and how even through their differences they still have a bond that endures.
**Please note the store will be closing early tonight for a private event. MGSD will be open from 10:00AM-5:00PM. We apologize for any inconvenience.**
New Books this Week
Tuesday brought a host of great new titles to our shelves! Check out Matt Coyle's Dark Fissures, a staff pick that Sarah calls "a top-notch hard-boiled crime novel" that "carries the reader along at breakneck speed." And don't miss exciting SF releases, including Robert Charles Wilson's Last Year, Monster Hunter Memoirs: Sinners from Larry Correia and John Ringo, and more!
GOT & GRRM for the Holidays
And don't miss info on a Very Special Box collecting books and materials celebrating George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones' 20th Anniversary at the end of this newsletter. Join us at the
Holiday Party for an exciting
A Game of Thrones: The Illustrated Edition: A Song of Ice and Fire: Book One opportunity, and more of Wade's Rep Picks!
Have a great Wintery week! We look forward
to seeing you in the store and in our communities
... and we thank you for your continued support!
