We Make YOUR Travel Plans EASY
Hot August days call for swimming and ice cream!

Two of my favorite things....love them both!

So, how are you staying cool this August? Steve and I, along with 53 others cooled off in Alaska earlier this month. Read all about it below.

I've also kept very busy remodeling my kitchen and getting the entire house painted inside and out. This is a project I've waited six years to do and I'm thrilled with the results.

My sister from Chicago just visited for three days and we had lots of fun eating, shopping and going to the movies. Always love being with my sisters!

UPDATE...DEB’S MEDICAL NEWS!
I'm doing very well and the hip precautions have been lifted. Now I just need to concentrate on building my endurance and strength once again. My plan is to not fall anymore and remain upright. Hoping to get back in the pool very soon.

Alaskan Bliss Review
Fifty five of us escaped the heat and headed north to Alaska. We boarded the beautiful NCL Bliss in Seattle and visited Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Victoria, BC. A great time was had by all!

We enjoyed delicious meals in Teppanyaki, Cagney's Steak House, La Cucina and Los Lobos. Everyone enjoyed lunch or late night snacks at The Local, a 24 hour eatery. We had glorious weather in Ketchikan and Victoria. We were entertained by the lumberjack show in Ketchikan and enjoyed beautiful Butchart Gardens in Victoria. Our visit to Juneau, where we went whale watching, was slightly dampened by rain but we still managed to have a great time. Everyone saw some magnificent whales.

The weather in Skagway was not much better and blustery winds added to the rain. Despite the inclement weather, we had a wonderful time riding the White Pass and Yukon Railway, #1 shore excursion in Alaska. Entertainment on the ship was fantastic with Jersey Boys being the favorite of all. Other popular shows were Beatle Mania and Havana Nights. Lots of night time fun!

Once again, the highlight of the trip was the wonderful people we got to travel with and observing the friendships that were made during the week. We had a large number of first time cruisers. I hope this will be the first of many cruises for them.
Seattle
Photo taken of the Public Market Sign in Seattle Washington.
Prior to our Alaska Cruise, fifteen of us had the pleasure of spending three nights in the glorious city of Seattle. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown. Several of us were able to negotiate the hills with our scooters. We had an amazing private tour of Pike Market.
Our guide ran a company called Seattle Bites and took us on a tasting tour of this iconic market. He also enchanted us with the amazing history of the market.

We were all fascinated as he talked about what really goes on behind the scenes and how this market is run. We were treated to all kinds of food from seafood chowder to fresh made sausage, tacos, yogurt, crepes and more. We left the market filled with interesting facts and food.

The next day we took the Seattle Tram to Seattle Center, home to the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens (my favorite!). The glass floor had just opened to the public the day before in the Space Needle and it was quite a treat to look down upon the city as it slowly turned 360 degrees.

I loved the magnificent glass sculptures in the museum and garden designed by Chihuly, native son of Seattle-Tacoma. The colors and details of his work are amazing. We were blessed with excellent weather on both days and we all enjoyed our time in this magnificent city.
