Breakfast and Lunch at Eastview

Breakfast is served daily between 8:20 - 8:35 AM. After checking in with their homeroom teacher, students will head to the cafeteria to eat their breakfast, if desired. Each day, students will eat lunch in the cafeteria. Students may bring a cold lunch or purchase a school hot lunch.

SCHOOL BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENU

SNACKS & WATER BOTTLES

We are once again asking that children bring their own individual snacks and water bottles. Students are welcome to bring store-bought birthday treats and special event snacks. We do have fill stations at the drinking fountains throughout the building so students can refill their water bottles. No worries if your child does not have a water bottle, as the drinking fountains will be accessible, as needed.

ATTENDANCE

One of the biggest ways you can help your child succeed this school year is to make sure your child gets to school on time each and every day. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. Every day counts, and missing school even 10% of the time has a significant negative impact on reading and math achievement as children progress through school. We want to ask for your commitment to making sure your child attends school every day possible this year.

When your child does have to be absent from school, we ask that you communicate with us about the absence. When your child will be absent, you have two communication options:

Call or email Mrs. Grelyak in the main office at 262-348-6000 to speak with her and/or leave a message by 9:00 AM each day.

You may log in to PowerSchool to record the reason for your child’s absence. Please see the directions linked here.

We also ask that you let us know about pre-planned absences, including vacations and doctor appointments, ahead of time. When missing school for an appointment, it is always encouraged that you get documentation of your visit to provide to the school as verification. When leaving for an extended vacation (3 or more days), we also ask that you complete the Planned Absence Request Form. This form can be obtained from Mrs. Grelyak in the office.

Lastly, please also note that, as a school, we are required to track student attendance and support families with any attendance issues or concerns. Our highest priority is to have students at school, and we are willing to help in any way we can. As a parent, it is important to understand the current State of Wisconsin attendance laws stated below:

A parent or guardian may only excuse their child/children for 10 days during the school year, including doctor visits. After these 10 days, an absence can only be excused if the school is provided with a note from a doctor, dentist, court, etc. The same guidelines apply to excessive tardies.

Once a student has been absent for 7 days (excused or unexcused), parents/guardians will receive a letter noting the absences as well as procedures for the next steps to improve attendance.

Thank you in advance for your commitment and support to your child’s attendance this school year.

STUDENT DROP OFF & PICK UP

School Hours: 8:35 AM - 3:40 PM

 Drop-Off: 8:20 - 8:35 AM

 Pick-up: 3:35 - 3:40 PM

Bus Dismissal: 3:40 PM

When arriving at school on the first day, if driving your child, we ask that you drop your child off outside of the school, give them a hug and a kiss, and send them on their way with a smile! Students should enter the building and go to their homeroom class. We will have teachers and staff here to help any student who might need assistance getting to his/her classroom.

Morning and Afternoon Student Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures

AM Drop Off: 8:20 - 8:35 AM

  • Enter the parking lot at the far Sage Street entrance
  • Pull into lane 1 to drop off student/s. Students should exit on the right side of the vehicle and cross with the adult to the school building.
  • Parents remain in the vehicle
  • Exit the parking lot using the same entrance

PM Pick-up: 3:35 - 3:40 PM

  • We ask that parents arrive no earlier than 3:25 PM
  • If using the parking lot for pick-up, enter the parking lot at the Sage Street entrance
  • Park vehicles in lanes 1, 2 and 3 of the parking lot; when lane 1 becomes full, then use lane 2, and then lane 3. Do not block the drive for buses that will be coming into the lot.
  • Students will walk to your vehicle and enter the vehicle on the right side. There will be adults to monitor students crossing in the lot.
  • Parents may also park on both sides of Sage Street. We ask that parents park north of the crosswalk on Sage Street.
  • We will help students cross Sage Street at the crosswalk.

VISITORS & VOLUNTEERS

We love seeing our families at school, but it is important to keep our focus on a happy and successful school day. During the first week of school, parents are welcome to walk their child to their classroom if necessary. We understand that coming to school after the summer or as a first-time student can bring some emotional challenges for both children and adults.

After the first week of school, we will use a “Kiss and Go” model. Please leave your child in the lobby with a kiss and some happy words of encouragement and pride as they start their day. If you need help with separation, Mrs. Stanton or any of the staff will be happy to gently guide your child to their classroom.

If you need to bring something to school, please bring it directly to the office, and we will happily deliver it to your child.

Parental support is very important to ALL of the students and staff. We welcome you to volunteer in whatever ways you can. If you are interested in helping at school or want to volunteer for school events, please complete the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION AND CONSENT FORM. It is available on the district website or from the school office.
