In the Cultural District

March 2024

Greetings from the Cultural District Partnership Team!

We only have a few more days until spring begins and we will start off the season by partnering with ECAT to host an Art Show on Sat. April 6! We thank Mass Cultural Council and the Avery Lee Williams Family Trust for supporting this event.

We are also hard at work preparing for our annual Summer Concert Series and End-of-Summer Music Festival.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join our annual Stakeholder Meeting. It was wonderful to hear about the exciting work being done in the district and the collaboration by so many of the members.

Wishing you all great success!

About the Cultural District

A Cultural District is a walkable, compact area easily identifiable to visitors and serves as a center of cultural, artistic, and economic activity. One of only 55 state-sponsored Cultural Districts in Massachusetts, Easton’s own Shovel Town Cultural District, located within one of the Town’s four National Register Historic Districts, offers a vibrant creative and culinary arts sector as well as a broad range of historical, architectural, natural, recreational and agricultural resources.

The Cultural District Management Partnership Team works to support local artists, bring free or low-cost events to the community and increase visibility and visitation to our local businesses. The Easton Shovel Town Cultural District is a valuable asset that promotes local arts and culture, drives business and economic growth to our local economy, and strengthens the well-being of our community.
