BPA Students Earn National Championship!
Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools is proud to announce that its students recorded a series of outstanding achievements at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference, held in Chicago, Ill., recently. Among the top finishes between its two BPA chapters, Eastland-Fairfield students collected two team national championships and saw one individual crowned a national champion, in addition to a handful of top-10 finishers.

Congratulations to our students from the Programming & Software Development, Multimedia, and Medical Office labs for representing Eastland-Fairfield and your program with success and pride!

HOSA Competition Features Multiple State Champs
Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical students had a very successful showing at the 2024 HOSA State Leadership Conference where 45 students from two different programs presented their projects among a large group of students from across Ohio. Nine students from the Bioscience satellite program were crowned state champions in their respective events, and 16 students will be moving on to compete at the international level this summer.

Aviation Program Brings Plane Back to Life!
If you drove past Eastland Career Center on April 1, you may have thought you were witnessing an April Fool’s joke when you saw a plane taxing down a makeshift runway. This was no joke; rather, a project that highlights the invaluable student experiences that come from our partnerships.

Last summer, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office donated a plane, a Cesna 172 Model A made in 1959, to Eastland-Fairfield’s Aviation program. The caveat? The plane didn’t run. It had been sitting, unused, in a hanger at the Fairfield County Airport for nearly 10 years before it was put into motion again, so it needed a little tender loving care.

A little TLC went a long way for Brandon Reynard '24 (Reynoldsburg) and the Aviation program, who now have this aircraft taxiing around Eastland Career Center following a massive rebuild project.
The Stories Behind our Architecture Students' Senior Projects
Bright and early on a recent Thursday morning, the students in Mrs. Smith’s Architecture & Construction Management program filed into Knowlton Hall on The Ohio State University campus. With them came weeks, if not months, worth of work stored on rolls of architecture planning paper. It was time to present their senior projects. An audience of friends, family, mentors, and professionals from the architecture and construction fields nearing 100 people gathered to evaluate the pinnacle of these students’ Eastland-Fairfield experience.

We took the opportunity to talk to students during the open gallery session prior to the presentations beginning and found that not only were their projects simply amazing, but the stories and inspiration behind their projects were incredibly inspiring.
Recognizing our EFCTS Staff
We want to take a moment to thank all of our staff for another incredible year at Eastland-Fairfield, and also give special recognition to those celebrating work anniversaries with us, this year. Check out the image to see who is celebrating milestone moments at EFCTS!
We'd also like to give our best wishes to Bonnie Pulsinelli and Nita Hill, both of whom will be retiring after 30 years of service. Ms. Pulsinelli will be retiring this summer while Ms. Hill will be retiring next December.
What Else is Happening Around the District?
It's Crime Scene Week!
Mid-May always brings with it "Crime Scene Week" for the BPOT program and the Eastland Police Academy! Cadets welcomed special guests to teach them the art of crime scene investigation with special skills and setups that allowed for a very hands-on day of learning. Thank you to Ohio Attorney General Office agent, Aja Chung, and Groveport Police detective, Josh Gilbert, for joining us and sharing your knowledge with our cadets!
Students and Staff Enjoy Field Day
It's a timeless tradition that as the school year winds down, our students and staff take a day to enjoy the weather and one another during Field Day! The ECC and FCC campuses held a fun-filled day that featured corn hole, pickleball, volleyball, and even some fishing, too. It was a much-needed, and well-deserved reward for a year's worth of hard work that began summertime celebrations! Thank you to all who supported and participated in these incredibly fun days!
EFCT-Shark Tank
The students in the first period Small Business Finance class at FCC investigated entrepreneurship by creating their own businesses. They came up with a product or a service and created their own business plan then had to pitch their business to "sharks." If the "sharks" invested in their business they even got extra credit on their assignment. Thank you to our "sharks", Mrs. Tinsley, Mr. Predmore, and Mr. Philhower.

NTHS Book Drive Benefits BrockStrong Foundation
Our students and staff never cease to amaze us! Recently, the ECC chapter of National Technical Honor Society held its annual book drive to benefit the BrockStrong Foundation. They collected 225 books that will be donated to local classrooms through the BrockStrong Foundation. Great job, everyone and thank you for your generosity!
