On Monday, May 6, 2024, Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools inducted 43 students, all juniors, into the National Technical Honors Society (NTHS) satellite program chapter. The ceremony to recognize the newly inducted NTHS members was held inside Clark Hall at Lincoln High School in Gahanna.

EF Students Hold Enlistment Ceremonies
At Eastland-Fairfield, we celebrate students choosing one (or more) of our 4 E's for their future: Employment, Entrepreneurship, Education, and Enlistment.
Over the last two weeks, students from FCC and ECC celebrated their choice to choose service in a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces through a signing day ceremony. Family members, recruiters, staff, and supporters were welcomed to our buildings to watch students selflessly sign letters of intent to serve in the military.
The current list of student military commitments can be found below.

EF Hosts Career Discovery Days for Kids
It is never too early to begin asking the question, "What do I want to be when I grow up?" It's a question as ageless as time. Eastland-Fairfield is here to help kids (and adults for that matter) wrestle with that question and offer opportunities for kids to explore their options.
Our amazing Career Services staff held two Career Discovery Days for students in grades 3-6 that attend our associate districts. Students, staff and parent chaperons were invited to either Eastland Career Center of the Fairfield County Fairgrounds for the opportunity to touch, see, smell, and hear (pretty much everything but taste) the different options they have and find out what may interest them.
It was amazing to have so many smiling and engaging students join us. Thank you to all of our business partners for your support during this fantastic event, and to the Fairfield County Agricultural Society for opening up the fairgrounds to our staff and students.

FCCLA Duo Presents on Teen Suicide
Culinary Arts seniors Kai Pegram (Whitehall) and Ryan Traylor (Groveport Madison) gave a special presentation at our most recent Board of Education meeting about teen suicide awareness and prevention. The presentation was part of the duo's FCCLA state competition, but the data and insights offered to those in attendance were incredibly impactful. Thank you to Kai and Ryan for opening our eyes to a very relevant and meaningful topic that impacts our students and teens in our communities.

ACM Students Help Out Habitat 4 Humanity
At the time of our last newsletter, seniors from the Architecture & Construction Management satellite program at Gahanna were out and about helping Habitat 4 Humanity (H4H) of Central Ohio with two job sites in Columbus. It was fantastic for our students to engage in some impactful volunteer work, but especially since they got to connect what they do on paper with how the construction projects happen on-site. Instructor Mrs. Amy Smith has been involved with H4H for years and enjoys watching her students have "AHA! Moments" when they connect the dots of what they design to how it gets built in the field. Thank you to our partners from H4H for allowing our students this opportunity to serve our community!
