Dental Assisting Students Head Out on Externships
The students in Eastland-Fairfield's adult Dental Assisting program are now equipped with the knowledge and ready to put it into practice! The last leg of their experience with the Dental Assisting program is to perform a 150-hour externship at a dental office and our students were chomping at the bit to show off their skills. This experience will be the crowning achievement of their education before they graduate as certified dental assistants! Check out where a couple of our students are working their externships.
Cloee will be serving as a dental assistant in training at Steiner, Rotenberg, & Lindsey LLC in Columbus.

Hot Wheels at Fairfield Career Center
On April 19, "Will Motivation" came down to Fairfield Career Center with some of his friends and a handful of amazing exotic cars. With them, they also brought a message of positivity, what a strong work ethic will provide, and how anyone can enjoy the fruits of their labor, and for them, its exotic cars.

Students and staff got to hear Will and his friends' stories about where they came from (which included Jamaica!) and what they did in order to achieve success and dabble in the car world. Then, everyone was treated with the opportunity to sit in their rides and listen to the engines rev and ride away in style.

Thank you to Will Motivational for spending time with our students and inspiring them to dream big!

Fairfield Medical Center Student Feature
Eastland-Fairfield Project SEARCH student, Allana Pederson (Whitehall Yearling), has been recognized as a standout intern by her employer, Fairfield Medical Center! They are so thrilled with her performance and the positive attitude she carries with her as she works that she made the company newsletter to be spotlighted.

ECC Automotive Rolls in New Wheels
The Automotive program at Eastland Career Center received some new wheels to add to its fleet of vehicles that students can work on and learn from. Through the generosity of Dick Masheter Ford, a 2024 Lincoln Navigator was donated to the Automotive program so students can learn from cutting-edge technology and add to their experience as they complete their Ford ACE certification training, which is embedded into their program. Thank you to Dick Masheter Ford for their support and generosity! We can't wait to get this luxury SUV on the road (or a rack).
Worm is the Word
Mr. Cashin's physics class was out in the back of Eastland Career Center collecting materials and creating a soil profile that will be evaluated for one month to see the impact of earthworms on our soil. We can't wait to see the results! You never know what the next fun (and sometimes, dirty) activity coming from Mr. Cashin's classroom!
Pre-Dental gets THE Experience
The juniors in Pre-Dental program at Fairfield Career Center got THE experience as they wrapped up orientation at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. This will set up our students for a successful clinical experience next year as seniors. They also had the opportunity to meet with Human Resources reps and take part in an interview workshop. The compliments our students received from OSU staff were incredibly positive, speaking volumes about their determination to fulfill their dreams.
