The latest healthcare news from Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley. These include summer programs, therapy intensives and a Fox32 segment on Autism Diagnostic needs.

New Summer Groups & Intensive Programs Available at Easterseals

Registration is open for Easterseals Summer 2024 therapy programs! Beginning on June 3, these weekly programs at our Villa Park center allow children to address their therapeutic needs and goals amongst peers working on similar goals.

These programs are organized by Easterseals clinicians and feature over 20 diverse activities including sports, cooking, nature explorations, dancing, and sibling or caregiver support groups.

Summer 2024 is full of opportunities for children to explore new passions and create awesome memories!

All participants must have their insurance verified, an appropriate prescription in place from their medical provider, and be screened and/or evaluated by our team to ensure appropriateness for the program.

Easterseals Grows Intensive Therapy Programs

Also available this summer are customized intensive therapy programs at Easterseals that are multi-disciplined and highly individualized.

Summer Intensives Available:

We take an individualized approach to therapy because we understand that each child is unique with their own goals and needs.

For children who are on the cusp of a developmental milestone, an intensive therapy program can be especially beneficial. These goal-oriented programs are collaborative with a child's caregivers and our expert therapy team.

Fox32 Features Easterseals on World Autism Day

Fox 32 Chicago recently shared our Autism Diagnostic Clinic and interviewed Bilingual Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Citlaly Gonzalez on World Autism Day. Dr. Gonzalez shares:

"Even without the diagnosis, if we know that a child has speech delays, we can start them with speech services. If we know a child has difficulty with sensory processing or motor planning, we know that we can get them started with occupational therapy," Gonzalez said.

The State of Illinois offers early intervention for ages 0 to 3. Currently, Easterseals is scheduling autism diagnostic evaluations one to two months out.
